The objective of the meeting was to provide the baseline information on the ecological status of the Kura River Basin and to discuss the proposed river restoration sites in Azerbaijan and approaches to be used for the River Restoration activities based on the shared objectives. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mary Matthews.  As a result of the meeting the participants of the meeting agreed upon the suggested criteria for the site selection and expressed willingness to start the implementation of the project.
