Rational Water Use in Municipal and Irrigation Sectors II 17 May 2018
The meeting on the Rational Water Use in Municipal and Irrigation Sectors, held at UNDP/GEF Kura II Tbilisi Training Center on 17 May 2018, was attended by representatives from Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, municipal water supply sector, agricultural water use sector, universities, hydropower sector, Kura II team members and experts.
Opened by Dr. Mary Matthews, Kura II Chief Technical Advisor and Regional Project Coordinator, the meeting was led by Dr. Hubert Lohr, Kura II Water Supply and Demand Management Expert, who presented to the participants the situation analysis, gaps and possibilities of improving monitoring and assessment of surface water and ground water availability.
The workshop also covered the regulations and enforcement related to water availability, the cause & effect analysis, culminating in the suggestions, possibilities, recommendations, ideas and discussions in the field of enhanced efficiency for agricultural and municipal consumption.
