The meeting reviewed the development of Environmental Flow Methodology within the framework of the USAID G4G project “Refining EF Methodology and Preparatory Work for Environmental Testing Work Plan”, as well as the principles and main stages of the holistic assessment and components of Environmental Flow, together with the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed methodology.

Different categories of environmental flow calculation methodologies and examples were also presented and discussed, such as hydrologic, hydraulic rating, habitat simulation, holistic methods, including their pros and cons. It was agreed that it is important to seize the opportunity of developing and streamlining the question of environmental flow calculations and monitoring in Georgia, with active participation and cooperation of international projects, such as UNDP/GEF Kura II, G4G and EUWI+.

It was attended by representatives from Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, National Environmental Agency, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Agriculture, Georgian universities, representatives from Georgia's civil society sector, representatives of USAID G4G program, Kura II team members.
