Regional Working Group on Shared Water Quality Indicators Baku, Azerbaijan 10 September 2018
Regional Working Group (RWG) on Shared Water Quality Indicators of the Kura II project had a meeting on 10 September 2018 in Azerbaijan. This was the first meeting of this RWG and it is expected to have three more meetings - two in Georgia and one in Azerbaijan, on rotating basis.
The main objective of this working group is to decide on shared water quality indicators for harmonized water quality analysis water resources in the Kura river Basin. The members are from the Monitoring Department of Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources from Azerbaijan and National Environmental Agency from Georgia. As a result of the discussion they have agreed on five common indicators to be analyzed regularly from the agreed point in both countries. The meeting has also served as a ground of sharing the recent updated in the water resource management in Georgia and Azerbaijan.
